The CDMN Soft-Landing Program: Overview
Now accepting applications for landings from January 1 – March 15, 2014.
Applications close Friday, November 29, 2013.
The CDMN Soft-Landing Program offers qualified, mature startups and small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) exposure to business opportunities around the world. It provides the opportunity to work from a partnered accelerator, incubator or coworking space to obtain regional support and resources for the right connections to help open new markets, close international sales or connect with new partners.
Successful candidates of the Outbound Soft-Landing Program will receive up to $4,000CDN in reimbursable expenses to help offset travel and hotel stay costs.Companies landing at partnered business accelerators will also have the costs associated with their desk space and services covered by CDMN for up to three months.
Both the location and the specific landing facility are always determined by the startup and SME, based on market pull and the needs that the company is seeking to fulfill in that economy.
The program will not only serve to help internationalize Canadian businesses abroad; CDMN has landing options for non-Canadian startups and SMEs looking to land in Canada. While international companies do not qualify for funding support from CDMN, companies are encouraged to review the Frequently Asked Questions or enquire with CDMN directly as to how they might utilize our network across Canada to explore how to do business in North America through Inbound and Domestic Soft-Landings.
Although no funding is provided for Inbound Soft-Landings, companies interested in landing in Canada will benefit from the extensive CDMN network that spans from coast-to-coast. CDMN will work with companies to help identify the best facility in the network for them to connect with and will help make the connections to facilitate this opportunity. This matchmaking service is free through the CDMN but companies looking to land elsewhere in Canada should be aware that there may be costs associated with landing at these incubators for desk rentals etc. This will be determined by the selected site and the company taking part in the landing.
