Earlier this year, close to 100 Canadian startups gathered in Stratford, Ontario to compete in the fourth annual Road to Banff Pitch Off competition at CDMN’s Canada 3.0 Digital Media Forum. The top three winners of this year’s event: Openera, Qwalify and XYZ Interactive won a grand prize trip to the Banff Venture Forum, Canada’s premier company financing event which takes place on October 4th and 5th in Alberta.

The Banff Venture Forum showcases North America’s hottest hi-tech companies while offering insight into key issues within the investment industry.  The conference also provides the Road to Banff Contest grand prize recipients, and all participating startups and SMEs, a premium networking opportunity and a chance to learn from world-class professionals in the investment community.

The event has continued to grow in scale since it began in 1999 – with the 2011 Forum playing host to over 40 venture capital firms, 32 presenting companies and 350 delegates.

Whether you are a VC searching for the next big company in which to invest, or a startup looking for financing, the Banff Venture Forum 2012 has something for you. Keynote speakers for 2012 include Forbes Tech Evangelist, Eric Jackson who will speak on the topic of “Why Google and Facebook Might Completely Disappear in 5 years,” and Serial Exited Entrepreneur, Randy Smerik who will discuss “Your Company is Your Product – Be Prepared!”

A PwC Banff Venture Forum Entrepreneur Bootcamp, brought to you by Rocket Builders, will also take place on the day before the conference – October 3rd, 2012. The event will provide participants (including the Road to Banff Pitch-Off winners) with details on fundraising in western Canada and the US, valuations, deal structures, tips and trends.

For more information on how your company can participate, please contact Dave Thomas, Partner, Rocket Builders by phone at 604-603-8630 or send an e-mail to dthomas@rocketbuilders.com.
