Application Deadlines are Fast Approaching for CDMN Node Accelerator Programs: HYPERDRIVE and JOLT
By Andrea Wahbe on Oct 30, 2012 / Categories: CDMN News
Earlier this year, two CDMN nodes, Communitech and MaRS launched new accelerator programs for qualifying Canadian startups. These initiatives were built on the best practices established by U.S.-based incubators such as YCombinator,TechStars and 500 Startups while providing Canadian startups with access to local seed-round funding and commercialisation resources, plus guidance from world-class mentors, all in their own backyard.
Here’s a round-up of how Communitech’s HYPERDRIVE and the MaRS JOLT program help Canadian startups to commercialise and create more companies, jobs and wealth for the nation:
- Communitech’s HYPERDRIVE is a 24-month, $30+ million tech startup incubator program with a focus to seed, fund, and grow new tech companies. The next round of the program will support up to 10 qualified companies from anywhere in the world; HYPERDRIVE runs three cohorts per year.
Visit http://hyperdrive.communitech.ca/ for more information and to submit applications by November 30th, 2012 for the January 2013 program.
- The MaRS JOLT early-stage startup program provides high-growth web and mobile companies in Canada with access to capital, space, design expertise and critical guidance, all with the goal of dramatically improving a Canadian startup’s potential for success. JOLT will select 15 high-potential startups annually, fostering accelerated market validation and, in turn, helping these companies secure the capital and talent necessary to scale efficiently.
Visit http://jolt.marsdd.com/ for more information and to submit applications by November 4th, 2012 to participate in the winter 2013 cohort.
Please note that both accelerator programs require Canadian startups to move to their incubator space (in Toronto for MaRS and Kitchener-Waterloo for Communitech) for three to four months.
